Who am I?
In the 1970’s larger companies could afford a mainframe computer. Smaller companies relied on remote computer sharing facilities. I worked for one of the service providers and I provided an interface between clients’ administrative staff and the computer. So I have grown up experiencing the reticence, and frequently fear, of users of new technology. With this website I try to bridge the gap that still exists between hard technology and people’s emotions.
About our website
This website contains a series of forest glades. I invite you to walk through the forest with our forest rangers. Glades represent aspects of AI and there’s always a ranger there ready to talk with you. Ask the rangers questions, stretch your imagination, and enjoy the conversation.
How it helps
The forest and its glades allow you to experience AI on your terms anonymously. What you type in and what you get out is not saved by the website nor remembered after you leave. We do count the number of people who enter each page, and the aggregated time spent.
We have no opportunity to intervene in your conversations with rangers. Althoughif you want to contact me please use the Contact Us page, we do need your contact details to reply. Your feedback does matter to us and we want to improve the site for you and others as its sole purpose is to help people understand what AI is, how you can use it to your advantage, and to become more confident when you use it more.
Making this website with Claude
Claude and I spent a long time working on ideas. My objective is to get people who have lived through many layers of technological change to engage with another, possibly the most significant one – AI – and improve their lives as a result.
Creating a website that provided a safe online forum to explore AI anonymously was one of several ideas. Technically it is most challenging for me. I have certainly produced an unusual approach, one which I believe will suit people who are not intending to become professional AI users, but they will be able to use AI for creating real benefits for themselves as well as others.
The process took several weeks. Claude was involved at every stage. This is my first project where AI has been involved from the start. I hope you are willing and able to benefit from it.
