Meet and Greet
Welcome to the Forest. It is open for anyone to explore the world of Artificial Intelligence. You won’t be alone, Rangers are in key areas and are there to assist you. There is no set route. If you are new to AI, start with the Welcome Shed. If you have been before and know where you want to go, thank you for coming back, and please let me know how you get on. Please, try to remember to respect this environment, and remember that being polite pays.
This Forest-wide attraction is FREE.
A few things are different here compared to the full version of Claude. Rangers can’t look things up online, so their knowledge has a cut-off date – don’t rely on them for today’s news. They also won’t do tasks on your behalf outside this chat. Think of them as knowledgeable companions for a conversation, not personal assistants
Navigating the Forest
Navigate around the forest by using buttons and menus, following either the guidance of Rangers or just explore. You can’t get lost. The exit takes you back to the website’s homepage. Alternatively, you can just close your session. Any residual chat is disposed after a few hours.
Saving a Conversation
If a ranger tells you something worth keeping, just select the text and copy it, then paste it wherever suits you — a notes app, an email, a document. Some chat windows also have a small copy icon in the corner of each response, which does the same thing in one click. Exactly how copying and pasting works depends on your device — laptop, tablet, phone — but the method is the same almost everywhere in AI.
Forest Rules
Remember, this is a forest where there are few rules. But you would be well advised to take care.
It is a Wild Place so don’t take safety for granted. There is little to harm you unless you talk about things you shouldn’t. If you don’t know what they are, then ask a ranger.
Keep your conversations friendly and polite. Don’t give away personal details to anyone in AI unless you are absolutely sure it’s appropriate, remember trees have ears. We don’t ask you to create an account, so we don’t know who you are either. If you would like to tell a ranger your name, then make one up, just in case. Your experience and curiosity is all you need.
You will be encouraged to have conversations with the Rangers. That’s the way AI works. They will ask you questions and also answer yours. Mind your Ps & Qs as my grandma used to tell me.
Our Forest Rangers
Rangers are around to help you. You can ask them anything, but none are conversant in everything. They are instructed to help you, but not to do things for you. Some might go a step too far by telling you what they think you want to hear. If something doesn’t sound right, just say so, the Ranger won’t be offended, and you’ll often get a more careful answer.
Where would you like to go?
You are free to wander where you will, however, these buttons are arranged in an order that naturally takes you from being a newcomer to someone who should feel confident to try the real world AI Assistants and perhaps beyond.
