Meet and Greet
Welcome to the Forest. It is open to anyone for exploring the world of Artificial Intelligence. You are not alone, there are Rangers in key areas who are there to assist you. There is no set route. If you are new to AI, start with the Welcome Shed. If you have been before and know where you want to go, thank you, and please let me know how you get on. Please, try to remember to respect this environment, and remember that being polite pays.
This Forest-wide attraction is FREE.
We do restrict the Rangers’ roles to providing answers to your questions on AI capabilities and limitations, and giving explanations and advice on how to do things with AI. For example: how to ask AI to write meeting minutes, prepare newsheets, research family history, plan a holiday, and anything else you would like to do. They won’t perform tasks for you such as “Book my holiday using the information in the itinerary.”
These limitations will evolve as this learning experience develops.
Navigating the Forest
Navigate around the forest by using buttons and menus, following either the guidance of Rangers or just explore. You can’t get lost. The exit takes you back to the website’s homepage. Alternatively, you can just close your session. Any residual chat is disposed after a few hours.
Forest Rules
Remember, this is a forest where there are few rules. But you would be well advised to take care.
It is a Wild Place so don’t take safety for granted. There is little to harm you unless you talk about things you shouldn’t. If you don’t know what they are, then ask a ranger.
Keep your conversations friendly and polite. Don’t give away personal details to anyone in here unless you are absoluteley sure it’s appropriate, remember trees have ears. We don’t ask you to create an account, so we don’t know who you are either. If you would like to tell a ranger your name, then make one up, just in case. Your experience and curiosity is all you need.
You will be encouraged to have conversations with the Rangers. That’s the way AI works. They will ask you questions and also answer yours. Mind your Ps & Qs as my grandma used to tell me.
Our Forest Rangers
Rangers are around to help you. You can ask them anything, but none are conversant in everything. They are instructed to help you, but not to do things for you. Some might go a step too far by telling you what they think you want to hear. If you are in doubt about anything they say, just challenge them. They don’t mind that. After all, it is a learning process for them too.
