Our Aim
We aim to be a Privacy First website by having a target of zero-cookies, zero-IP tracking, and to minimise using, sharing and storage of any personal data.
To make the website work we have to compromise and use, store and share some potentially sensitive data with, for example: our website Hosting company, our AI Chatbot, individual login details, and when you contact us. We work towards ensuring confidentiality, security, and privacy of everyone who visits the site. This page records our activities that work towards that aim.

We Track Users
When visitors come to our website we need to know the pages they visit, and their interactions with text and objects on each page. We need this information so we can provide an ongoing quality service to website visitors.
We currently use a plugin: “Independent Analytics” for tracking site visitors. The plugin is most favourable to us beacuse it provides a simple reduced risk solution because it:
- Does not use cookies at all
- Does not communicate with outside servers — all data stays on our own site
- Does not store personally identifiable information — IP addresses are encrypted into unique IDs and never stored in plain text
This plugin’s software is automatically kept up to date. To ensure we continue to use the most appropriate settings, we review them periodically and record the most critical recent selections below:
- Track logged in users – No
Applies to users who are logged into the website for Admin and associated purposes. - SALT refresh rate – Daily.
A site visitor has a unique IP address necessary for maintaining communication during their visit. This IP address is immediately encrypted by SALT and is used to record the progress of the visitor through the website. SALT provides a unique reference code for each visitor for that day. Here, SALT is refreshed daily so if the same visitor returns on a subsequent day, a new unique reference is created. - Ignore IP Addresses – None
This setting works in conjunction with Track Logged In Users. When set to No i.e. Track every one. To prevent unwanted IP addresses being reported, e.g. those performing Site Admin activities, they are listed in this setting.
Our Chatbot – Rangers
- Chatbot Disclosure: Ensure the following small text is placed below the chat input box: “This chatbot is powered by AI. Please do not share personal or sensitive information.
- Chat Storage: We have elected not to store the content of Chats. We have no need to do so as they are purely the experimentation of people who dont feel confident in using commercially provided AI yet.
- AI Functionality: We have severely restricted the functionality of our Rangers. They will answer questions about aspects of AI. They will not perform Tasks, or search the internet for answers. They will not allow documents nor media to be uploaded. They will not carry forward chats from previous sessions. They will discourage personal information being used. Long chats are discouraged by restricting the amount of memory they can use. Expect to see responses where they have forgotten something from earlier messages
